Agnes Water/1770 Fishing Report 21st Feb 2010
Agnes Water/1770 Bait & Tackle
Big tides near the full moon made offshore fishing a bit harder in the run. Several big red emperor and grassy sweetlip were taken by those who persisted, as well as some nice trout.
Crabbing has produced good catches, all this rain really seems to get them moving.
The jacks and grunter are still about, though they can be a little harder to tempt with so much fresh around. Try using livebaits in tight to cover areas exposed to tidal flow near the river mouths.
Our prawn season has almost reached its end. Small catches have still been reported in the deeper holes.
